About Mary Eley

Mary Eley is a member of the Fruitland Township Board of Trustees, appointed in April 2006 and duly elected in November 2006. Mary also chairs the Fruitland Planning Commission, appointed in Fall 2005. During her brief tenure, she has helped draft Fruitland's Agricultural Overlay District, Lake Michigan Shoreline Overlay District and revised Comprehensive Plan. She is leading reform efforts on the Board to implement and enforce policies and procedures designed to foster open, honest government. From timely, accurate meeting minutes to strict fiscal accountability, Mary and her fellow trustees are united in raising the level of discourse and delivering better government for the citizens of Fruitland Township.

Mary (O'Connor) Eley is the oldest of thirteen children and was raised in Ravenna, Michigan. She graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1982 and earned an associate degree in science from Muskegon Community College in 1984. She is the executive director of a healthcare-related non-profit organization specializing in medical education. She and her husband Dan reside on a farm in Fruitland Township.
